conclusions

I got a better understanding of all the new tools offered in this exercise. It was a good way of going through all kinds of subjects I would never have done on my own. For the library's use I especially liked the WIKI's. thanks for creating such a great exercise!

sharing a document

I completed the assignment to share a document.

WIKI

I think wiki's are very useful as a tool for patrons to give a review of a book or movie, or to read other reviews before getting the book or film. it is so far used in sites like Amazon, and sites where you can buy for example shoes. It can be very helpful.
I also believe that the library could be a source of information for the community. It is easy to post wiki's for everybody, and they are easily accessible.

travel trhough feed finders

In my travel through the feed finders I found Syndic8.com confusing, the lingo I did not like too much. The Technorati (which was also available in Dutch) I liked a bit better, but for me the easiest to understand was Google reader. No lingo, just plain language.
I tried to find feeds on herb gardens, but, as I already expected, I got those stories of people I do not know and am not interested in, and not a lot of information. When I tried to find a feed on a typical Dutch loaf, Duivekater, I came across a recipe that I already found months ago through a Google search. So, feeds for me are not adding a lot, only the one I subscribe to might be of interest to me.

subscription to Library Feed

http://www.communitylibrary.org/RSS/Adultnewfic.aspx

this is a subscription from the Library webpage. I do like the feeds that you do not have to subscribe to, it is easier. I am not a fan of all the twitters en feeds, it takes too much time.
I rather search for something I need at that moment.

BBC world news

http://www.google.com/reader/view/feed/http%3A%2F%2Fnewsrss.bbc.co.uk%2Frss%2Fnewsonline_world_edition%2Ffront_page%2Frss.xml

I like to be informed about world news, as American tv programs have a tendency to minimize international news.

I would like to 'hear' this book:

The following has been saved: http://www.suffolkwave.org/E08341E1-E5CE-42B3-A7A5-BF224883CA78/10/380/en/BANGSearch.dll?Type=Creator&ID={CC645AF3-614F-43F0-A1C4-699B5798CE98} for activity #10 Downloadable Audio

this is a very typical Dutch landscape; Flat, with sloten (little canals) and Wilgen (the trees).

his name is Andre Hazes. I use YouTube if I want to listen to Dutch songs.

Library Thing

I created a library under the name reader01. I added three books. I think it is a useful tool, it enables me to find more related items.

Delicious

Delicious is a good tool to mark things that are interesting; it is helpful to see what others looked into. I would like to see the William Floyd School Home Page posted too.

MySpace and Facebook

I visited the library MySpace and Facebook. Right now the Library has 117 fans.
Other library pages I visted were the Patchoque, the New York Public Library and Longwood pages. An interesting element on the MMSCL teenpage was the homework help they offer.
I like Facebook more than MySpace. It offers more information for visitors. I liked the photos of the latest events.

twitters

I visited twitter.com, seems to me another time killer on the web. Do not like it.
